Two riders, two levels, one trip. The couples who enjoy Mallorca most build the week around the slower rider's day.
For most couples we host, the best trip lasts 5 to 7 days, with 50–90 km riding days, a hotel worth staying in after lunch and at least one easy day in the middle.
If your levels are far apart, add an e-bike. All six of our Mallorca cycling tours list couples as a fit. The trick is matching the right one to the two of you.
Quick answer
- Mixed levels: the Mallorca Easygoing E-Bike Tour (7 days, 260 km, 1,450 m of climbing, from €1,880 per person) averages about 52 km a riding day.
- Two confident riders: the Signature Mallorca Bike Tour (7 days, 430 km, 4,610 m, from €2,320) includes a 30 km recovery day in the Sóller valley.
- Hotel-first couples: the Tramuntana Luxury Ride (from €4,850) moves between El Vicenç de la Mar, Jumeirah Mallorca and Son Bunyola.
- Short on time: the Weekend Cycling Escape (3 days, from €950) or the Classic Short Tour (5 days, from €1,250).
- Different speeds: every tour runs guided, self-guided or a mix, and an e-bike for one partner keeps you riding side by side.
What makes a cycling holiday work for a couple?
A cycling holiday works for a couple when both people finish each day wanting to ride again tomorrow. In practice that comes down to three things: a daily distance set by the less experienced rider, a way to close the fitness gap (usually an e-bike), and hotels and afternoons that are part of the trip rather than a place to sleep between rides.
The failure mode we see most often is the "training camp for one" — one partner plans an itinerary from Strava segments, the other spends a week on the back wheel, and both come home slightly annoyed. Mallorca makes this easy to avoid because the island packs very different riding into a small space. From the same hotel in the north you can ride the flat roads around the bays of Pollença and Alcúdia, or climb into the Serra de Tramuntana. The route can change; the room doesn't have to.
It also helps to be honest about what each of you wants from the week. If one of you cares about Sa Calobra and the other cares about a long lunch in Deià, both can happen — on different days, or on the same day with different routes that meet at the table.
Which Mallorca cycling tour suits which couple?
Match the tour to your combined profile, not to the stronger rider. The table below uses the real distance, climbing and riding days of our six public Mallorca cycling tours, with a rough average per riding day so you can see what a typical day actually asks of you. Every tour lists couples among the travellers it's designed for.
| Tour | Days / riding days | Total | Avg per riding day | Level | From (per person) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekend Cycling Escape | 3 / 2 | 130 km · 1,850 m | ~65 km · ~925 m | Intermediate | €950 | A long weekend, one hotel |
| Classic Mallorca Bike Short Tour | 5 / 3 | 330 km · 3,290 m | ~110 km · ~1,100 m | Intermediate | €1,250 | Two fit riders, few days off work |
| Easygoing E-Bike Tour | 7 / 5 | 260 km · 1,450 m | ~52 km · ~290 m | Easy cycling | €1,880 | Mixed levels, newer riders |
| Signature Mallorca Bike Tour | 7 / 5 | 430 km · 4,610 m | ~86 km · ~920 m | Intermediate | €2,320 | Two regular riders, first visit |
| Tramuntana Luxury Ride | 7 / 5 | 455 km · 4,670 m | ~91 km · ~930 m | Intermediate | €4,850 | Hotels matter as much as roads |
| Epic Island Cycling Loop | 8 / 6 | 375 km · 6,000 m | ~63 km · ~1,000 m | Experienced | €5,850 | Two strong climbers, whole island |
Averages hide the shape of a week. The Signature tour, for example, has a 95 km, 2,148 m crossing of the North Tramuntana on day 3 and a 30 km, 320 m ride around the Sóller valley on day 4. That rhythm — a big day followed by an easy one — is exactly what keeps a couple's week balanced. Read the day-by-day before you book, not just the total.
Different fitness levels: how an e-bike evens it out
When one partner rides far more than the other, an e-bike for the less experienced rider is the single most effective fix. It lets both of you take the same road at the same pace, so the stronger rider still gets a proper workout on the climbs and the other arrives at the café smiling rather than spent. It changes the trip more than any route tweak.
Our fleet includes Trek road bikes for the stronger rider and Trek e-bikes for the partner who wants the climbs flattened out. Bikes are fitted to your measurements before you arrive and delivered to your first hotel, with daily bike insurance included, so neither of you has to fly with a bike box.
The ride that convinces most mixed couples is Cap de Formentor: 10.8 km at an average of 2.9%, gaining 309 m, along the peninsula north of Pollença. It's gentle enough for an e-bike rider who has never climbed in the mountains and scenic enough that the stronger rider never feels short-changed. One couple in their 60s who rode e-bikes with us wrote afterwards:
"We are in our 60s and rode ebikes. Adrian encouraged us to take on Cap de Formentor, which became a highlight we are proud to have completed."
— Bernie Kollman, Canada (guest review, April 2026)
A note on Formentor: access to the peninsula road has had seasonal traffic restrictions in recent years. Dates change, so check the current year's rules for your travel dates — we confirm them when we plan your week.
Guided, self-guided or a mix — what works for two?
Every Medfeel Mallorca tour runs guided, self-guided or a mix of both, and couples often get the most from the mix. Self-guided days give you privacy and your own start time; guided days are worth it for the biggest mountain stage, the first day on unfamiliar roads, or whenever your levels differ and you want someone managing the pace and regroups.
Self-guided does not mean unsupported. You still get GPX files for every route, a trip onboarding session, bike delivery and pick-up, luggage transfers between hotels, emergency and rescue assistance, and a dedicated Medfeel travel agent on the phone. A private guide can be added for the days you choose, at €280 a day for a short ride, €310 for a medium ride or €340 for a long ride.
The couple we quoted above rode self-guided and put it this way: "Although the trip was self guided, we always felt confident in the routes and supported." That's the outcome we design for. If you want to dig into the trade-off in more detail, our guide to guided vs self-guided cycling in Mallorca walks through it day by day.
Hotels where the hours off the bike matter
On a couples' trip you'll spend more waking hours at the hotel than on the bike, so the hotel choice carries real weight. The properties our couples' itineraries use most are chosen for the afternoon as much as the morning: a sea view, a pool or spa, a restaurant worth staying in for, and bike storage handled for you.
- Hotel El Vicenç de la Mar (Cala Sant Vicenç, near Pollença) — five-star boutique base in the north, used on the Tramuntana Luxury Ride and the Classic Short Tour. Formentor is on the doorstep.
- Jumeirah Mallorca (Port de Sóller) — above the cliffs of Port de Sóller and the overnight after the big Tramuntana crossing on three of our tours.
- Son Bunyola (Banyalbufar) — a private estate on the west coast, where the Tramuntana Luxury Ride spends its last two nights.
- La Residencia (Deià) — for couples who want a mountain village as the base and short, scenic coastal rides.
- Can Ferrereta (Santanyí) — quieter southeast roads and a slower pace, used on the Epic Island Cycling Loop.
One practical point: many smaller mountain-village and rural hotels close in winter, roughly from mid-November until spring. If a specific property is the reason you're going, plan your dates around its season. For a ranked look at individual properties, see our best cycling hotels in Mallorca.
Building in an easy day (and what to do with it)
Plan at least one easy or rest day in any trip of five days or more. Our 7-day tours already do: the Signature tour and the Tramuntana Luxury Ride both follow the big mountain stage with a 30 km ride around the Sóller valley, and the Epic Island Cycling Loop keeps day 6 free at Jumeirah. Couples consistently rate those days among the best of the week.
An easy day doesn't have to be a day off the bike. A 30 km loop with 290–320 m of climbing, a coffee in Sóller's square and the afternoon by the sea is a holiday, not a training compromise. It also gives the stronger rider an honest choice: join the easy loop, or add an extra climb in the morning and be back for lunch.
If one of you wants the big climbs
If one partner has come for Mallorca's famous climbs, give them a dedicated morning rather than making it the whole trip. The climbs that pull serious riders to the island are long and committing, and they're better as a planned solo or guided outing than as a shared day the other partner endures.
- Sa Calobra (Coll des Reis): 9.5 km at 7.2%, 660 m. It's a dead end — once you descend to the sea, you have to climb all 9.5 km back up, or arrange a pickup. Not one to "try" on a whim.
- Puig Major from Sóller: 14.4 km at 5.7%, 815 m — the longest climb on the island. The summit itself is a military zone; the road passes below it.
The usual plan is simple: the climber rides out early with a guide or a GPX file, the other partner takes the morning at the hotel or rides an easier loop, and you meet for lunch. For the full picture of what each climb involves, see our guide to the best cycling climbs in Mallorca.
What couples tell us after the trip
The reviews couples leave rarely mention distances. They mention flexibility, support when something goes wrong, and recommendations they would never have found alone. Those three things, more than any single route, are what separate a good couples' trip from a tiring one.
"…we appreciated the flexibility to adjust plans/ routes along the way, plus the great restaurant and coffee recommendations."
— Laryssa Straub, United Kingdom, who travelled with her partner (guest review, April 2026)
"Most importantly was how they supported us throughout the week, replacing one bike with another when my wife had some severe saddle soreness."
— Jeffrey, Austria, on a cycling and tennis week with his wife (guest review, April 2026)
That last one is worth dwelling on. Small problems — a saddle that doesn't suit, a bike that feels wrong on day 2 — hit the less experienced partner hardest. Having someone who will swap the bike rather than tell you to push through is a large part of why a week stays enjoyable for both of you.
Our take: the best Mallorca cycling holiday for each type of couple
If we had to pick one tour per couple, this is how we'd match them. Each recommendation is a starting point — every bespoke tour can be shortened, re-ordered or rebuilt around your dates.
- One regular rider, one occasional rider: Mallorca Easygoing E-Bike Tour — from €1,880 per person, Easy cycling level, about 52 km a riding day.
- Two regular riders on their first Mallorca trip: Signature Mallorca Bike Tour — from €2,320 per person, with a recovery day built in.
- The hotels are half the holiday: Mallorca's Tramuntana Luxury Ride — from €4,850 per person, El Vicenç de la Mar, Jumeirah and Son Bunyola.
- A long weekend away: Mallorca Weekend Cycling Escape — from €950 per person, two riding days from The Lodge near Campanet.
- Two strong climbers: Mallorca Epic Island Cycling Loop — from €5,850 per person, Experienced level, 6,000 m over six riding days.
Who this isn't for: if both of you want to train hard every day with no afternoons off, a couples-oriented itinerary will feel slow — look at the Classic Short Tour or the Epic Island Cycling Loop instead. And if only one of you wants to cycle at all, a cycling tour may not be the right frame for the trip.
All prices are "from", per person, based on double occupancy unless stated otherwise. Flights, travel insurance and food and drink are not included.

Frequently asked questions
Can one of us cycle while the other doesn't?
Yes, though it changes the trip. The non-riding partner needs their own plan for the day, so tell us early and we'll build the week around shared hotels and evenings. Medfeel also runs hiking and golf tours in Mallorca, which some couples combine with a cycling week for the rider.
When is the best time of year for a couples' cycling trip in Mallorca?
Spring (March to June) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable windows, with average temperatures of roughly 15–24 °C. Summer works if you start early; winter is mild but some rural and mountain hotels close.
Can we join a scheduled group departure as a couple?
Yes. Two tours run on fixed 2027 dates: the Tramuntana Luxury Ride (15 March, 29 March, 12 April, 27 September and 11 October) and the Easygoing E-Bike Tour (5 April, 26 April, 4 October and 18 October). The other four run on dates you choose, for just the two of you.
Do we need to bring our own bikes?
No. High-end Trek road bikes or e-bikes are included, fitted to your measurements before you arrive and delivered to your first hotel, with helmet, pedals, device mount and daily bike insurance. You only need your shoes, pedals if you prefer your own, and riding kit.
What isn't included in the price?
Flights, travel insurance and food and drink beyond daily breakfast. Hotel nights, breakfast, bike rental and insurance, GPX files, airport transfers, luggage transfers between hotels, energy bars and gels, and emergency assistance are included. We recommend travel insurance for every trip.
Is a cycling holiday a good idea for a honeymoon or anniversary?
It can be, if the riding stays the supporting act. For a celebration trip we'd lean towards fewer riding days, shorter distances and two hotels rather than three, so you unpack less and spend more evenings in one place. Tell us the occasion and we'll weight the week towards the hotels.
Can we change the route during the trip?
Yes. We watch the forecast and can move start times, shorten or reroute a ride, or swap days around if the weather or your legs call for it. If conditions aren't safe to ride, we suggest an off-the-bike alternative for the day.
