Mallorca is one of the world's great cycling destinations. From the dramatic Serra de Tramuntana mountains to quiet inland lanes and sweeping coastal roads, the island has something for every rider.
At Medfeel, we've ridden every corner of the island to find the routes that best capture its variety and beauty. Here are our seven favourites, from legendary climbs to peaceful countryside rides. Suitable for different levels and ambitions.
7. The Mid-Tramuntana Loop.
- Distance: ~85 km Elevation: ~1,430 m
- Best for: A rewarding half-day ride through Mallorca's mountain villages
- The ride at a glance: Starting and finishing in Port de Soller, this route captures some of Mallorca's most iconic scenery in a single loop. Climb steadily to Deià, then on to Valldemossa, two of the island's most beautiful villages. Continue to Esporles, where the road opens out into flatter, faster terrain before looping back towards Bunyola and climbing the southern side of the Coll de Soller. A quiet, technical ascent, before descending into Sóller via a series of 30 switchbacks.
6. The Three Monasteries Ride.
- Distance: ~101 km Elevation: ~1,600 m
- Best for: Quiet roads, great views, and a touch of culture
- The ride at a glance: This peaceful inland route links three of Mallorca's most historic monasteries: Santuari Cura, Sant Salvador, and Petra. Starting with the climb to Cura Monastery atop Puig de Randa, the road rises steadily for around five kilometres, revealing wide, open views across the island. From there, the route heads east to Sant Salvador, a steeper and more demanding ascent crowned by a striking hilltop chapel and panoramic vistas. The final leg rolls through quiet farmland towards Petra, where cobbled streets and small cafés make it the perfect place to pause before the return.
5. The Orient Valley Loop.
- Distance: ~135 km Elevation: ~2,100 m
- Best for: A big, varied day in the mountains
- The ride at a glance: A true island classic. Begin with the Coll de Femenia, then climb Puig Major and enjoy 14 km of fast, flowing descent into Sóller. From there, take on the Coll de Soller, climb Coll d'Honor, and drop into the green Orient Valley before returning north via quiet backroads. Riding it anti-clockwise gives you the best sequence of climbs and the most enjoyable descents.
4. The Garage Loop
- Distance: ~55 km Elevation: ~800 m
- Best for: A shorter ride that captures the best of northern Mallorca
- The ride at a glance: Perfect for a half-day spin. Start with the Coll de Sa Batalla, 8 km at an easy gradient through shaded forest, then stop at the well-known Repsol Garage Café for coffee and snacks. Continue over the Coll de Femeia and enjoy one of the best descents on the island. For an optional challenge, add Sa Calobra to turn it into a major climbing day.
3. Southern MA10 Coastal Loop
- Distance: ~65 km Elevation: ~1,500 m
- Best for: Sea views, rolling climbs, and smooth tarmac
- The ride at a glance: Between Banyalbufar and Andratx, the MA10 offers endless views of cliffs, sea, and sky. The road undulates gently with wide, flowing turns and quiet villages dotted along the route. Stop in Galilea or Estellencs for coffee overlooking the coast. When you reach the road's end, head inland towards Puigpunyent via the climbs of Es Grau and Galilea.
2. The Lighthouse Ride
- Distance: ~60 km Elevation: ~900 m
- Best for: A short ride with unbeatable views
- The ride at a glance: From Port de Pollença, climb Coll de la Creueta, descend to Formentor Beach, and continue up to the Cap de Formentor Lighthouse. It's one of the most scenic roads in Europe — carved into cliffs, winding through tunnels, and opening to panoramic sea views. Ride early or late to avoid traffic and catch the best light.
1. The Full MA10
- Distance: ~115 km Elevation: ~2,100 m
- Best for: The complete Mallorca experience
- The ride at a glance: The MA10 runs the length of the Tramuntana from Andratx to Pollença, passing through every type of landscape Mallorca has to offer. Ride through Valldemossa, Soller, and over Puig Major, before descending past Gorg Blau and Sa Calobra. It's a route that delivers a little of everything — mountain passes, coastal views, and perfect road surfaces.
